About the event

What to expect on the day

All sessions are led by the Voluntary Site Manager – no previous experience needed.

The group leader will provide a safety briefing at the start of the session, explaining how to work safely and anything you need to know. 

Please come prepared for the outdoor conditions and wear clothes suitable for the weather and sturdy boots. Bring a packed lunch, plenty of water, and hand sanitiser. 

How long do volunteer days last?

Our sessions usually run from 10am until 4pm, with regular rest breaks and time for lunch. 

Do I need to bring my own tools?

All tools and PPE are provided. 

Some volunteers bring their own camping chair or a mat for breaks.

Who can attend volunteer days?

Anyone can attend a volunteer day.

Under 16s, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (who must also be registered as a volunteer).

16–17 year olds can attend unaccompanied but need a completed a parent/guardian consent form before they start volunteering.
