Creating a wilder Surrey
Find out information about our wildlife conservation projects across the county and get involved.
Space4Nature
This three-year project made possible thanks to players of People's Postcode Lottery will see the University of Surrey and the Surrey Wildlife Trust working in partnership with Buglife and the Painshill Park Trust. The team will enlist the help of the public to inform their work in the newly emerging field of Earth Observation – combining satellite technology and artificial intelligence – to monitor and improve wildlife habitats.
Hedgerow Heritage
Hedgerow Heritage is an ambitious National Lottery Heritage funded project that aims to inspire and teach young budding ecologists, practical conservationists and the wider local community to restore, renew and create hedgerows in the North Downs and Surrey Hills.
Bay Pond Nature Hub
Surrey Wildlife Trust is creating a community wildlife garden at Bay Pond. By growing plants from seed and cuttings, and upcycling things that would otherwise be thrown away, we want to show that making a space for nature doesn’t have to cost the earth.
Naturally Richer
A new investment model in Surrey is placing nature’s recovery at the heart of the local economy, transforming nature conservation and sustainable growth.
