NEW ONLINE FORMAT - Resident & Wintering Waterfowl
About the event
With covid restriction stopping people from joining us for events, we are bringing this course to you. It has been thoughtfully revised to an online format covering 2 days instead on one.
Day one:
This first session will take place from 10am until 12:30 on Thursday 21st January where your tutor, Simon Elson, will make a presentation about Surrey's Resident and wintering waterfowl before entering into an open discussion about local waterfowl. He will then offer suggestions of where and how to access areas local to you enabling the discovery of these birds. Simon will also make suggestions about what books and apps are best for identifying each species. You will then have the week to go in search of wintering waterfowl in your area. During this time you will be encouraged to take photographs and make notes about what you see which will then be shared during the second session taking place on Thursday 28th January from 10am to noon.
Day Two:
Here you will have the opportunity to discuss your finds, ask questions and find out what your fellow delegates have discovered.
We will be using Microsoft Teams to run this course. This application allows file sharing-perfect for uploading images - as well as offering a group communication tool that allows the delegates interact (should they choose to) outside of the course time.
