This 4 day top up course is designed for those already with a Forest School Level 2 Assistant qualification to achieve their Level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders qualification, accredited by Open College Network West Midlands (OCNWM) and the Institute for Outdoor Learning.  The student must provide proof of current Level 2 Assistant qualification.

The Level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders course covers the following:

✓ How to safely establish & deliver a Forest School programme, including planning and running your forest school, policies and procedures, risk assessment and session planning.

✓ The theories of learning and development and background to forest schools.

✓ Practice the skills to help children learn and develop in a woodland environment, including fire-lighting, tool use, games, arts and crafts, identification and use of woodland resources

✓ How to look after and manage your woodland site

The Top Up course dates are Tuesday 24th, Wednesday 25th, Thursday 26th & Friday 27th November 2020 (4 days)

  • 4 day initial training course covering the OCNWM units. 
  • Portfolio advice and assessment.
  • Mentoring days - regular face to face opportunity to receive advice on your portfolio work.

Booking is essential, a £100 deposit is required to confirm a place on the course
