Inspire children to connect with nature. Learn the skills and knowledge to become a Forest School Assistant and gain a nationally recognised qualification. This modular 4 day course will run on Monday 5th & 6th October and Monday 2nd & 3rd November 2020

About the event

Level 2 Award for Forest School Assistants is accredited by the Open College Network West Midlands (OCNWM).  This Level 2 course enables you to gain a nationally recognised qualification to assist Forest School activities.

The Level 2 Award for Forest School Assistants training course covers the following:

✓ Understanding the Forest School ethos, principles and holistic approach to learning and development.

✓ How to perform the role of Assistant at a Forest School in relation to the Forest School ethos, principles and criteria.

✓ How to support learning and development at a forest school.

✓ Practice the skills to help children learn and develop in a woodland environment, including fire-lighting, tool use, games, arts and crafts, identification and use of woodland resources

Course dates (4 days) Thursday 17th & Friday 18th October and Thursday 14th and Friday 15th November 2019;

  • 4 days initial training course covering the OCNWM units. 
  • Portfolio advice and assessment.
  • Mentoring days - regular face to face opportunity to receive advice on your portfolio work.

Booking is essential, total course fee is £490.00.  A £100 deposit is required to confirm a place on the course
