Wildlife Mosaics
Event details
About the event
Creating a piece of art can be a wonderfully relaxing and mindful experience. We are therefore offering you the opportunity to spend the morning in one of our nature reserve's classrooms overlooking an ancient woodland with experienced art tutor, Tina De Domingo, who will be on hand to guide you through each step of the way.
In this idyllic space you will select your favourite pre-cut shape of a woodland
creature before delving into the vast array of colourful mosaics from which to
complete your mosaic piece.
Tutor Profile: Tina De Domingo
I’m Tina de Domingo and I’m a local mosaic artist and teacher. Many of my mosaics are inspired by the wonderful wildlife of my local area in Surrey, but I also love to play along with my imagination, so several of my mosaic creations are fantasy animals and plants. Most of these result from my zero waste approach, whereby I see all leftovers as materials in their own right. I incorporate offcuts, leftovers and ‘waste’ materials into new mosaic items.
Through teaching, I get to share the joy that is making mosaics. It is a slow and thoughtful craft, perfectly suited to bringing a sense of calm to all. Having extensive experience teaching a wide variety of participants, including children and vulnerable adults, I adapt my approach for each group and individual, enabling everyone to enjoy the process and make a beautiful mosaic.
