Surrey Wildlife Trust (SWT) is looking for an extra team member to play a critical role in the ongoing development of Surrey Biodiversity Information Centre (SBIC).
The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to deliver the day-to-day activities of SBIC in its role as a focus for biodiversity information and recording in Surrey. SBIC is a member of the Association of Local Environmental Records Centres (ALERC). The role involves supporting the work of SBIC in accordance with a defined work programme and in line with clients’ Service Level Agreements; providing a professional, efficient and effective enquiry response service to a wide range of users and projects; ensuring the accurate capture and digitisation of varied datasets including species, habitat and site records.
Biodiversity records lie at the heart of nature conservation and this post offers the successful applicant an opportunity to play a critical role in SBIC’s continued development and to make a real contribution to conserving the biodiversity of Surrey for future generations.
A relevant environmental qualification is essential together with a professional background in nature conservation plus knowledge/experience of (or interest in) the work of a local environmental records centre. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to work systematically, with thorough attention to detail and have the confidence to use technology.
Location
Our offices are in Pirbright and near Leatherhead; our hybrid working policy aims to provide a good work/life balance which can incorporate partial home working whilst having an interesting working environment.
The salary offered to successful applicants will form part of a benefits package including: above minimum pension contributions, life assurance of 4 x salary, employee support scheme, 22 days holiday, flexible / hybrid working policy.
