Which species can you identify?

Watch a variety of woodland birds on our feeder livestream

In line with new guidance from the RSPB, we remove our feeders from 1 May - 31 October to help prevent the spread of disease.

FAQ

How often are the feeders topped up?

The feeders are replenished daily during the working week. The feeders may appear empty at the weekend if all the food has been eaten before staff return on Monday.

What food do we use?

Foods such as sunflower hearts, mealworms and fat balls provide an energy rich snack suitable for a range of bird species.

Why do we stop feeding between May and October?

Research by the RSBP and other leading organisations has shown a worrying decline in some garden bird species due to a highly contagious disease called trichomonosis.

This highly contagious disease can spread where birds gather in large numbers such as at bird feeders and there is a higher risk of disease spreading during summer and early autumn.

At this time there are more also natural foods available to birds, such as seeds and insects.
