About the reserve

Part of the Chipstead Downs Site of Special Scientific Interest, Fames Rough and Coneyboro Hill comprise open grassland habitats on steep slopes, which are a haven for rare chalk grassland plant species. 

The wooded area of Harholt Plantation consists of managed Hazel coppice, with areas of scrub.

Accessibility and facilities

  • An unmade car park with unmarked parking bays can be found on Holly Lane, Chipstead.
  • A public footpath crosses the site
  • There are no accessible self-guided trails at this site.
  • Paths are uneven, slippery and steep.
  • There are no refreshments or toilets on site.
  • This site is not suitable for wheelchair and mobility scooter users, or people with serious mobility issues.
