About the event
Why did the hedgehog cross the road?
That may sound like the start of a bad joke, but it is also a serious question that will launch this talk as Hugh looks at the behaviour of hedgehogs and how our fragmentation of the landscape has a profound impact on the ability of the animal to thrive.
Hugh Warwick is an author and ecologist with a particular interest in hedgehogs. He has written three books about them, so far, and is the spokesperson for the British Hedgehog Preservation Society. Not just hedgehogs … he is just finishing a book about beavers, has written about other British wildlife and also in detail about habitat fragmentation, in his recent book, Linescapes.
