This 4 day TOP UP to Level 3 Leader course covering the OCNWM* units has been designed for those already with a Forest School Level 2 Assistant qualification who would like to gain their Level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders qualification, accredited by Open College Network West Midlands* (OCNWM*) and the Institute for Outdoor Learning.
The Level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders qualification covers the following:
✓ How to safely establish & deliver a Forest School programme, including planning and running your forest school, policies and procedures, risk assessment and session planning.
✓ The theories of learning and development and background to forest schools.
✓ Practice the skills to help children learn and develop in a woodland environment, including fire-lighting, tool use, games, arts and crafts, identification and use of woodland resources
✓ How to look after and manage your woodland site
✓ You will have unlimited online access to all our resources and receive continuing portfolio advice and assessment
✓ Mentoring sessions - an opportunity to receive advice on your portfolio, currently held using Zoom
✓ There is no skills weekend to complete on this TOP UP course, all skills are covered in the initial 4 training days.
The TOP UP course will run on (4 days) Mon 29th, Tues 30th, Weds 31st March and Thurs 1st April 2021 at Nower Wood Educational Nature Reserve, Leatherhead from 9.30am to 4.30pm daily.
Booking is essential, a £100 deposit is required to confirm a place on the course
