Nower Wood Members Days
About the event
Visit our beautiful ancient woodland nature reserve with your family. Usually closed to the public, Nower Wood is home to our purpose-built education centre and 81 acres of stunning ancient woodland. We are offering you exclusive access to come and enjoy this secret haven with your family.
You will have a chance to explore the woodland and learn more about the creatures that inhabit it. We'll send you some printable ID sheets in advance to help you make the most out of your visit. Our staff will show you how to safely collect pond creatures and minibeasts and will be on hand to answer questions about the creatures you find.
Take the opportunity to explore the reserve and follow a short self-guided trail with minibeasts and trees to identify along the way. You are welcome to have a picnic lunch on site, but please be aware that morning sessions finish at 12pm and afternoon sessions at 3pm.
Please note, the trail will be set out through the woods and parts will not be wheelchair or pushchair accessible. There is a wheelchair accessible woodland trail nearer the Centre which will be open. If you have any accessibility needs, we recommend getting in touch and we will be happy to help more specifically.
We are offering two sessions to choose from:
- Morning session: 10:00-12:00
- Afternoon session: 13:00-15:00
Please book one ticket for your group, which can include up to six people from your household or bubble. Due to social distancing measures which are in place, there are only six slots available and booking is essential. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
We look forward to seeing you!
This is a member-only event, please ensure you are a current member of Surrey Wildlife Trust before booking. You will be asked to present your membership card at the event.
Please help to protect our staff and other members by not attending any of these events if you or anyone in your household is feeling ill or have symptoms of Covid-19.
