What is the project? This is a citizen science project, which means that I need you to get involved! The project consists of a public attitude survey which explores how people across the UK are feeding our wildlife and their motivations for doing (or not doing) this. Participation in the survey is completely voluntary and is your chance to have a say about UK wildlife!

Why is the project important? This is novel study – meaning that it is the first study to explore the extent to which we are food provisioning a range of species across the UK. Additionally, the study will highlight areas where not enough guidance surrounding feeding wildlife is available or is lacking completely. If the results support this, then the project aims to campaign for legislations that will help to protect our wildlife in a way that not only benefits the animals, but also helps to maintain and even strengthen our connection to nature.

Who can participate in the study? Anyone over 18 years of age, currently residing in the UK!

Why should I get involved? Participants gain the opportunity to give their opinions on a topic that hasn’t been properly explored, while also helping to contribute to an important cause! Citizen science is a really powerful tool that allows scientists to collect lots of data (in this case, from the whole of the UK).

Who can I contact if I have any questions about this project? If you have any questions or require more information about this study, please contact the principal investigator using the following details:
