with Surrey Green Burials

Choose a funeral plan which will enable you to make a lasting contribution to Surrey’s wildlife

We’ve partnered with Surrey Green Burials, a family-owned funeral director based in Dorking in Surrey offering environmentally friendly and organic burial services and cremations.

The partnership will see Surrey Green Burials donate 10% of its professional fee to Surrey Wildlife Trust, for every funeral it conducts for a referred member or volunteer of the Trust.

How to book a funeral plan & choose Surrey Green Burials as my funeral director?

If you're a member of Surrey Wildlife Trust, you will need to know your Surrey Wildlife Trust membership number as you will need to inform Golden Charter, the funeral plan provider, of this. If you're a volunteer, you will need to provide your full name and state that you're a volunteer. 

You can find your membership number on your welcome letter or you can get in touch with us – email membership@surreywt.org.uk or call 01483 795445.

To Book a Funeral Plan with Golden Charter you can:-

  1. Call Golden Charter on 0808 090 2495 and quote Surrey Green Burials.
  2. Once you have completed the steps to book your funeral plan with Golden Charter, you will need to inform them that you're a member/volunteer of Surrey Wildlife Trust (if you're a member, you will also need to provide your membership number). Golden Charter will then notify Surrey Green Burials that you have chosen them as the funeral director and this will be added to your plan.

When your funeral has taken place and payment has been received in full to Surrey Green Burials, 10% of the professional fee from your funeral plan will be donated to Surrey Wildlife Trust.

How do I book a funeral with Surrey Green Burials funeral director, if I don’t have a pre-paid funeral Plan?

If you're a member of Surrey Wildlife Trust, you will need to know your membership number as you will need to give it to Surrey Green Burials.

To book a funeral with Surrey Green Burials :

Contact Surrey Green Burials and make an appointment to speak with them. You can either visit the team at their office in Dorking, or a member of the team can visit you at your home.

Surrey Green Burials also provide My Wishes Cards, where you can write your funeral wishes down and give them to a family member or friend to keep safe. For further information, please call Surrey Green Burials (01306 740407).

How do I inform Surrey Green Burials that I am a Surrey Wildlife Trust member?

When you book your funeral plan with Golden Charter, you will need to inform Golden Charter that you are a member or volunteer of Surrey Wildlife Trust. Golden Charter will then notify Surrey Green Burials that you have chosen them as the funeral director for your plan.

If I already have a funeral plan with Golden Charter, can I change my funeral director to Surrey Green Burials, and will there be a charge for doing this?

Yes, you can change your funeral director to Surrey Green Burials if you already have a funeral plan booked, and you can do this for FREE. You will simply need to get in touch with Golden Charter to make this amendment to your plan.

What is the professional fee?

The professional fee is the charge made by Surrey Green Burials for providing their professional services. The fee covers the cost of the conveyance of the deceased, the basket/coffin, use of a hearse, and the arrangement of all necessary paperwork.

When will the donation be made to Surrey Wildlife Trust?

The donation will be made to Surrey Wildlife Trust after the funeral has taken place and payment has been received in full to Surrey Green Burials.
