A day of nature discovery

Nower Wood Community Learning Hub is open for you to make the most of our private, ancient woodland nature reserve and lead your own school visits.

We have a range of curriculum-linked sessions to choose from suitable for all ages and abilities and all for an introductory offer of only £3 per child.

What you get

You will be provided with everything you need to have an amazing day, including a map, comprehensive activity guides, risk assessments, support materials and all the equipment you will need to make your trip as easy and stress-free as possible. As always, you are welcome to book a time to come for a recce before your visit to familiarise yourself with the site and we are still available to offer advice and answer any questions about your booking.

You will have exclusive access to one classroom per 30 children for the whole day. Each room includes an interactive smart screen and its own double doors which open directly to the reserve.

How it works

We have developed a range of self-guided activity trails for you to build your day from. Each session is for up to 30 children at a time and can last either 50 or 90 minutes, detailed in the table below. The structure of your day will be dictated by how large your group is, and therefore how many sessions you will be able to do.

For groups of up to 60 children, you can choose between two 90 minute sessions or three 50 minute sessions to fill the day. You can choose any combination of sessions suitable for your age group to make up your day.

For groups of 60-90 children, you will need three 50 minute sessions to allow for all three classes to rotate around three sessions throughout the day. You can choose any session apart from Habitat Walk or Orienteering Trail, as these take 90 minutes to complete.

And of course, you can always just come up to use the facilities and the woods for your own planned learning! You could host a forest-themed storytelling day in our inspiring surroundings or fit one of our sessions around your regular planned classes based in our classroom. Just let us know your ideas and we can discuss how to make it work for you.
