Event details
About the event
Join us on Thursday 24th July 8.15pm - 11pm for a special night-time guided walk around our heathland nature reserve.
Experience a magical evening discovering the magnificent European Nightjar and hear its unmistakable churring and wing clapping as they defend their territory, hunt for insects and call to attract a mate.
As dusk descends and this magnificent bird takes to the wing, our walk leaders will take you on a journey to discover all about these incredible birds, who fly all the way from Africa to Surrey's heathland.
Important information:
The walk is approximately 2 miles on mostly sandy tracks with some minor obstacles and steps. Walking boots are recommended. We will walk at a gentle pace with lots of opportunities to stop and ask questions.
This walk is aimed at adults (18+ years old). Unfortunately this site is not suitable for wheelchair users or people with limited mobility.
Please do not bring dogs on this walk.
