Location: Norbury Park
Date: Sunday 12 September 2010
Time: 10:30 AM - 03:30 PM
Meet at: Norbury Park Saw Mill, Norbury Park, Mickleham, Dorking, RH5 6DN. The mill is situated near Mickleham on the A24 between Dorking and Leatherhead. Enter park via narrow iron bridge and follow signs up to the mill.
Admission: Donations welcomed.
Organised by: SWT Sawmill and Joinery Manager Phil O’Donoghue 01372 457 377.

Come and see what the SWT team get up to at the sawmill. We will be running live displays of steam engine driven saw, how we cut large diameter oak trees and what can go horribly wrong (!), timber origins and how we season timber. We will also be running demonstrations of how we produce furniture in the joinery workshop, and how we process all our timber waste, plus demonstrations of woodland craft such as charcoal making, which is on sale along with our furniture and other products. Gates open at 10am and tours start at 10.30am and 2.30pm. Tours are free and take 1.5 hours to cover 200 metres, but you are free to stay as long as you like. Tea and coffee are provided free. Parking is available at the mill or at the other main car parks in the park with a one mile stroll to the mill. No booking required. Call 01372 457 377 for further details, directions or a map.
