RSWT Centenary Event: Our History at Nower Wood!

Come along to our open day at Nower Wood to celebrate the history of this beautiful nature reserve and education centre. Take part in activities and events that explore the ecology of this site and learn about the history of this ancient woodland.

Activities include:

  • Talks from Doug Hulyer at 11.30am and 1pm
  • Live & Deadly Trail
  • Pond Dipping
  • Minibeast Hunt
  • Badger Trail
  • Bushcraft
  • Displays from Norbury Park Wood Products, SARG and Surrey Bat Group
  • Sales goods
  • Video microscope
  • Refreshments area

But it’s not just the landscape that has a story to tell; were you one of the million children that have benefitted from being inspired by our dedicated education team? Did you have a close encounter with wildlife?  If so…..we are interested in learning about your memories of this site and invite you to bring any photos and share with us your stories.

Parking at the Brimmer National Trust car park (about ½ mile towards Box Hill from the main Headley Heath car park with tea kiosk). Car parking charge £2.50.

There will be a park & ride service from Brimmer car park to Nower Wood available from 9.45am to 2pm. Last bus from Nower Wood to Brimmer car park at 3pm.

Diasbled parking only at Nower Wood car park. If you are registered disabled, please contact us for more details.
