Location: Wisley Common, Ockham & Chatley Heath
Date: Sunday 13 May 2012
Time: 10:00 AM - 03:00 PM
Meet at: Chatley Heath Semaphore Tower, Ockham Common, just off the A3, south of junction 10 of M25. Park at Boldermere or Pond car parks on Old Lane and follow signs to the Semaphore Tower, approx 20 mins walk.
Admission: Adults £3, children and concessions £2.
Organised by: Steve Hill 07894 660999.

This is one of six open days in the year when you can visit the Chatley Heath Semaphore Tower. The tower was once part of a chain which was used to pass messages between the Admiralty in Whitehall and the Royal Naval Dockyard in Portsmouth. It was built in 1822 and is now the only restored surviving tower in a line of signalling stations that stretched from London to Portsmouth. Come and learn the history of the tower and take a trip to the top to see the breathtaking views. Dogs are not allowed in the tower.
