Rivers Week

Join us and millions of people around the world to celebrate World Rivers Day!

Surrey Wildlife Trust is celebrating World Rivers Day with a series of exciting and engaging events that will be sure to flood your senses!

Whether you are a keen river user, an active conservationist or a family who enjoys a riverside walk, there will be an event near you to activate your love of nature. Rivers Week 2017 is sponsored by Thames Water.

Can you discover the plant used to make gunpowder? Or spot an invasive species? Set yourself a challenge and go for a walk along the River.

Practical Task Days
If you are a registered Volunteer, you can book yourself on any number of our practical days held over Rivers Week. Numbers are limited so please book in advance by clicking on the links of the tasks below or call Emma Berry 01483 795474.

Monday 18th September, Rye Practical Task
Tuesday 19th September, Hoe River Clearance Task
Wednesday 20th September, Pippbrook Practical Task

If you are new to volunteering and would like to take part, all you need to do is complete the form on our volunteering page and register your interest in practical river restoration days.

Organised Events

River Wey Festival
23rd September

Join us at The National Trust River Wey Festival for a celebration of everything that's great about the Wey. Bring the family for a fantastic day out with music, pony rides, crafts, face painting, food and drink stalls, boat trips and loads more fun activities. 

River Mole Discovery Day
24th September

Mole Valley District Council host a celebration of the River Mole. Learn about the work of volunteers helping to protect and conserve wildlife and habitats on the Mole, come on a selection of guided wildlife walks, enjoy ice creams, face painting and refreshments.
