Secondary Programmes

Our secondary programmes are designed to enhance learning through hands-on, practical experience in the natural environment.

It is well-known that the best way to learn is through practical experience and our secondary programmes use field studies, scientific investigation techniques and interactive examples to demonstrate concepts in biology, geography and environmental studies.

All of our programmes can be tailored to your needs and syllabus requirements. ‘Add-ons’ such as statistical analysis and small mammal trapping are also available and we can even create completely bespoke programmes to suit your specifications.

NEW PROGRAMME for 2018!

GIS - Dormouse Study or Village Study
Nower Wood: a woodland study evaluating habitat suitability for dormice
Bay Pond: a Village Study looking at the human geography of Godstone

Geographical Information Systems (GIS) are increasingly important in the modern world, and this is being reflected in the geography curriculum. Give your students a hands-on introduction to GIS by collecting real data, generating maps and interpreting results. This session makes GIS simple and accessible for all.

Visiting our Centres

Our two education centres each have large, private nature reserves to give your class a unique, immersive experience and to give you peace of mind regarding the students' safety. You can find more information on both of our centres here.

Schools typically choose two of our half day sessions or one full day session. A day runs from 10:00 to 15:00 for KS3, from 10:00 to 15:30 for KS4 and from 9:30 to 16:00 for A Level programmes, with a break for lunch that the students bring with them. If these timings aren’t suitable for your requirements, please don’t hesitate to call and we can make the day work for you. All of our activities are planned and presented with the students' safety in mind, and are led by experienced staff who are First Aid trained and DBS checked.
