Outreach Programme

SWT has a team of qualified and experience Forest School Leaders that can come and deliver six or more sessions of activities in your local woods. We aim to provide every child with a positive outdoor learning experience and can tailor our forest school programmes to meet the needs of all ages and abilities.

During our forest schools programme, children spend regular time learning outdoors, undertaking woodland crafts and activities such as fire-lighting, using tools to create wooden objects, den making, creative activities, fun environmental games and freely chosen play.

How it works

A group of up to 15 children will be led by a SWT Leader either in school grounds (if suitable) or nearby woods.

SWT staff will:

✓ Carry out risk assessments for all sessions and share these with you
✓ Provide all the tools and resources needed for the sessions
✓ Ensure a trained first aider is present at every session with a fully stocked first aid kit

The price of the whole programme will be agreed depending on your needs with the traditional programme of six half day sessions approximately costing £740.

We can offer a half day taster (£160) for all schools and pre-schools, if you would like to see what it entails first hand.

We also offer regular forest school based sessions for families on nature reserves during the school holidays, visit our What's On page for more details.
