Wilder Schools 2024 applications now open

Applications for our Wilder Schools Programme are now open! Apply before the 28th March to be considered for the September 2024 cohort.

Our Wilder Schools programme focuses on enhancing biodiversity in school grounds, encouraging teachers to take learning outside, and empowering children and families to take action for nature. More than 30 schools are now participating and we’ve reached more than 6,500 students, trained over 450 teachers and supported over 100 habitat improvement projects including: meadow creation, hedgerow planting, installing and managing ponds, and woodland enhancement.

Applications for the Wilder Schools September 2024 cohort are now open! Share with your local school to apply now.

Here's what some of our Wilder Schools Teachers have had to say:

“The Wilder Schools sessions left the children feeling empowered to make changes not just in school but also at home and in their local community.”
- Rona Ottoway, Teacher at North Downs Primary

"The Wilder Schools Project is an inspired scheme to help get schools to plan for a greener future. It helps students to prioritise the environment whilst making a difference to their school community and having lots of fun in the process."
- Jo Wright, Reigate Grammar

"Both staff and students have thoroughly enjoyed getting involved in the process and it was brilliant to see the first bees and butterflies appearing within days of planting. We can’t wait to see everything come to life again this Spring and get to work on making the space even better!"
- Ali Mirhashem, Cheam High School

"It was great the way each activity could be adapted for the different ages and linked to a range of national curriculum subjects."
- Staff at Powell Corderoy after INSET day
