Inaugural golf day a resounding success
The winning team c.Colin GreenwooodEarlier this month, a group of enthusiastic golfers and supporters of the trust spent the day testing their skills at the inaugural Surrey Wildlife Trust (SWT) corporate golf day.
Taking place on the beautiful Foxhills championship golf course, the day began with bacon butties and banter before the serious competition started, with several teams of four teeing off to vie for the top positions on the prize board.
The teams – from various local organisations including Barlow Robbins, Claire Dee Communications, Optica Coaching and Ridgeway Money – enjoyed a full day’s play with no rain delays.
Supper and prize-giving then followed with best team performance being awarded to Ronald Pritchard, Philip Harrisson, Chris Bean & David Ludlow and best individual performance to SWT chairman Ron Pritchard.
Prizes were kindly donated by Claire Dee Communications, Queenwood Golf Club and Wilkins Kennedy LLP.
“It was a great day,” said Ron. “We enjoyed the fresh air and mixed levels of golf; all in aid of a worthwhile cause. I’d like to thank SWT’s Colin Greenwood for organising and my fellow golfers for coming along to support the event. In fact, it’s proved so popular we plan to do it again next year, and I will be returning to defend my title!”
