Norbury Park Sawmill Open Day

Nearly 1,000 people flocked to Norbury Park near Dorking, as Surrey Wildlife Trust’s traditional timber sawmill threw open its gates for its biggest open day yet.

Crowds enjoyed demonstrations of the huge industrial saws, which are used to produce Norbury Park Wood Products’ beautiful hand-finished furniture. And families got some close-up experience of traditional woodworking techniques.

There were also children’s crafts, hedging demonstrations, specialist artisan stalls and bug hunts, as well as live bees, Belted Galloway cows and amazing owls!

Norbury Park sawmill was established over forty years ago and specialises in quality English sawn timber and timber products suitable for the garden, town and countryside. These include including benches, house signs, picnic tables, gates, signposts, information boards and bespoke items.
