Nower Wood Re-build
Minibeast hunt at Nower Wood We are planning on rebuilding the environmental Education Centre in Nower Wood, which at forty is definitely showing its age!
Nower Wood is Surrey Wildlife Trust’s flagship Educational Nature Reserve and provides environmental or wildlife education for children from primary school up to A levels.
Many of you have been incredibly generous in your past support of Nower Wood which has made its success possible. But, it is only with new facilities that we can move forward.
Our members and supporters have helped us raise over £51,000, including over £7,500 in Gift Aid, and we received a huge – and very welcome! – surprise £20,000 cheque from a very generous local businessman which now takes our total to a Phase 1 target-busting £70,877!
The money raised from Phase 1 will enable us to replace and re-site the toilet block with temporary facilities that will be required during the building process. We will also fund essential plumbing and grounds work that needs to be completed before the main building phase of the project starts. We are now entering Phase 2 of the project which will include seeking further funding from Charitable Trusts.
Although we still have a long way to go to get to our grand target of £450,000, we are confident that with so much support we can get there.
Every donation will us to secure the future of Nower Wood. Thank you for your support.
