Paying by Direct Debit

We encourage members to pay their subscriptions by Direct Debit and currently over 90% of our members pay this way. It is a very safe way to pay and is covered by the Direct Debit guarantee. Please print and retain the Direct Debit guarantee for future reference.

The Direct Debit Guarantee

• This Guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits.
• If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit, Surrey Wildlife Trust will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request Surrey Wildlife Trust to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of your request.
• If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by Surrey Wildlife Trust or your bank or building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society.
    – If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when Surrey Wildlife Trust asks you to.
• You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify us.

Why do we need your membership?

By becoming a member of Surrey Wildlife Trust (SWT) you will be making your personal contribution to the protection and regeneration of Surrey's wildlife. You will be actively supporting the only organisation concerned solely with the conservation of all Surrey's wildlife and countryside.

Surrey Wildlife Trust is responsible for 82 sites in the county including open spaces and nature reserves, covering over 7,000 hectares, we rely on membership subscriptions and our fundraising efforts to raise the funds necessary to do our important conservation work.

  6. The Wildife Trusts' Guide to wildlife gardening, full of practical ideas and advice for making your garden a haven for wildlife.
  7. Full colour laminated fold-out Guide to the Butterflies of Britain.
  8. Free entry to our nature reserves (some reserves require permits to visit).
  9. Opportunities to do practical conservation work on our reserves.
  10. Invitations to exclusive membership events.

  12. Family membership also includes Wildlife Watch membership (the junior branch of the Wildlife Trusts for 5-15 year olds) for up to four children at the same address.  Children receive a welcome pack to share, which includes wildlife stickers and wildlife watcher’s handbook. The Wildlife Watch magazine and poster are sent to the family 4 times a year with a children’s events diary.
