Voluntary Conservation Trainee

Salary: Volunteer placement

Location: Based at Pond Farm, GU23 6QS - covering Surrey

An excellent opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in land management.

The placement will provide a diverse range of practical training from sustainable woodland management, heathland management to conservation grazing, along with more transferable skills.

Some flexibility exists around the role, dependent on candidates’ skills and availability. We offer a selection of external training covering First Aid and NPTC chainsaw use, in addition to internal training including species ID, cattle welfare and habitat management.

A relevant qualification is desired. Must have some previous practical conservation experience, good communication skills, be computer literate, a good level of physical fitness, with a full driving licence. Keen interest in the environment and seeking a career in this field. Anticipated commitment - 3 days per week, for 12 months.
