Donating Shares

Would you consider donating your shares? Share donations are a tax-effective way of supporting us as it gives rise neither to a gain nor a loss for Capital Gains Tax purposes as well as Income Tax relief on the value of the shares.

There are two ways of donating your shares to charity – if you have a small number of shares that you would like to donate to charity you can contact ShareGift, a charity set up to collect donations of shares which are then sold and the proceeds donated to a variety of UK charities. Although you are unable to specify which charity you wish your shares to benefit directly you are able to suggest a charity to benefit from future donations.
