Treasure Chest Appeal
THINK OF A NUMBER and MULTIPLY BY TEN
That will be the value of your donation to our Treasure Chest. You hold the key to a treasure trove!
Your donation – however big or small – will give us the chance to access thousands of pounds worth of extra funding! 10% matched funding is required by many funders. Treasure Chest donations are used exclusively for that purpose! Failure to provide matched funding means we lose the money forever. Every pound you donate releases ten times its face value.
Previous Treasure Chest Appeals have enabled:
• The securing of £22,000 from the SITA Trust for the enhancement of valuable lowland meadow habitat. This is a very rare habitat in the South East, providing nesting sites for skylarks and supporting many other bird species especially whitethroats, yellowhammers and nightingales.
• The restoration of Glovers Pond on Chobham Common NNR via another £31,000 SITA Trust grant. Due to neglect and scrub encroachment, this formerly wet, boggy area of heath had all but dried up. Now the area is a sanctuary for dragonflies and damselflies. Woodlark and lapwing breed there and hobby regularly feed over the ponds.
• The investment of £50,000 from BIFFAward to turn a derelict pond in Ashtead Park into a community asset and a haven for wildlife.
To help us unlock more buried treasure please send your donation (plus your name & address) to: Grace Moran, T C Appeal, SWT, FREEPOST GI2355, School Lane, Pirbright, Woking, Surrey GU24 0BR or call 01483 795444 to donate over the phone (quoting Treasure Chest Appeal).
Thank You
