Education Volunteers

Come and join our Outdoor Learning Team!

SWT offers a range of volunteering experiences with children and young people all year round supporting both our centres-based and outreach teams.

Our centres-based team has centres in a beautiful ancient woodland reserve in Leatherhead and in a diverse mosaic of habitats in Godstone, where they teach children of all ages about the natural world we live in. They also run holiday clubs, birthday parties and open days throughout the year.

Our outreach team run holidays clubs, wild tots and weekend wild family events.

Our teams couldn't function without the support of our fantastic volunteers, and we are always looking to expand our team.

There are a range of volunteering opportunities available:

  • Teaching Volunteers - Activities range from finding fairies with four year olds to teaching teenagers to survey plant diversity; every day is different. You can choose the age group you volunteer with and we’ll give you all the training and support you need.
  • Administration Volunteers - We are always looking for help managing all of the bookings that come in daily and the data that go with them, if you are computer-literate and love admin, we would love your help!
  • Wildlife Watch Leaders - Wildlife Watch is the UK's leading environmental-action club for children. If you would like to establish a club for your area and are happy to plan, organise and run Wildlife Watch meetings then get in touch! You can find out more about Wildlife Watch by clicking here.

New volunteers are always welcome, so if you would like to make friends, gain experience or just support our work, then we would love to hear from you!
