What has buried lots of eggs in my compost heap?
Grass snake by Charlie HoareA grass snake, if the eggs look like ping pong balls and the ‘shells’ are flexible. The warm compost heap will act like an incubator. Grass snakes are harmless and don’t have a venomous bite although they can grow quite large and look fearsome.
