About the event

Note: this event is part of our Youth Action for Nature programme, which is designed to create more opportunities for young people with an interest in wildlife, enabling them to learn how to use the platforms they use every day to become ambassadors for nature.

Join Surrey Wildlife Trust for a Social Media Skills Workshop at Nower Wood Ancient Woodland. We’re offering a day of talks, workshops, outdoor activities and videography surrounded by the beautiful spring wildflowers. Develop and hone your skills while learning how use your online presence to defend the natural world. Share your thoughts, opinions and unique insight with a group of likeminded individuals. Work independently and as part of a team, soak up skills from from our marketing specialists, and learn more about Surrey's unique wildlife.

Talks and workshops will be hosted by two of SWT's digital marketing experts, while outdoor activities will be led Team Wilder Engagement Officer Laura Ashfield alongside members of the SWT Youth Action Committee. This event is for those aged 16-30. All proceeds will be fed back into the Surrey Wildlife Trust Youth Action Committee.

What to bring

Please bring your mobile phone, camera or any other filming equipment you'd like to use during the workshop. Wear comfortable, weather appropriate clothing and trainers or walking boots. You will also need to bring a packed lunch, but tea and biscuits will be provided! Please note: Nower Wood is a nut-free venue.
