Level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders accredited by Open College Network West Midlands

Learn how to establish and deliver your own Forest School programme. This course enables you to gain a national qualification to lead Forest School activities.

The Level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders course covers the following:

✓ Learn how to safely establish & deliver a Forest School programme
✓ Practice the skills to help children learn & develop in a woodland environment
✓ Learn how to manage your local woodland site
 

Course dates : Monday 23rd & Tuesday 24th April, Tuesday 22nd May, Monday 18th & Tuesday 19th June 2018 followed by a skills weekend on 13th & 14th October 2018

✓ 5 day initial training course covering the OCN units. This includes planning for and running your forest school; policies and procedures, risk assessment, session planning. Theories of learning and development and background to forest schools. Practical skills and woodland management including fire-lighting, tool use, games, identification and use of woodland resources.

✓ Skills weekend - 2 days assessing and consolidating ideas.

✓ Portfolio advice and assessment.

✓ Optional mentoring days - a regular face to face opportunity to ask questions and receive advice on your portfolio work.

Booking is essential, total course fee is £900.00. A £200 deposit is required to confirm a place on the course.
