Event details

Sun, 25/03/2018 - 9:30am - 2:00pm

A family event to introduce children to our local birdlife.

Use binoculars to spot our native birds on a walk through the woods, learn their calls and make a bird feeder to take away.

A morning walk through the woods, when the birds are most active, will introduce you to some of the native birds found in our woodland. Our experienced tutors will help you identify the birds we come across and be on hand to tell you all about our fantastic feathered friends. We will use binoculars, ID guides, apps and our ears to help us with identification.

Back in the centre, a slide show will help children learn more about birds and you can build your own bird feeder to tempt some species into your garden at home so that you can practice your new skills!

You'll need to bring a packed lunch with you, warm clothes and waterproofs, along with suitable shoes for exploring the woods. This event is most suitable for children 5 years and up, and children must be accompanied by an adult.  Hot and cold drinks will be provided. Booking essential.
