Flower Power (half day)
Key Stage 1
Bay Pond
Wild Flower Meadow at Bay PondThe session includes a walk to look at the flowers around the reserve. The children will learn about a plant’s need for light and water to grow. Games are used to demonstrate the processes of germination and pollination.
National Curriculum Criteria : Sc2 & 3abc
Our sessions are always planned and presented with the Health & Safety of the
students in mind. The activities instil an awareness of the importance of observation when studying
animals and plants in their natural habitats. Students are encouraged to treat the organisms with
care and sensitivity. We also emphasise the need to look after our environment. Most importantly
we hope you enjoy your day out, and return to school with a better understanding of how we
fit into the natural world.

Inspiring and fun activities aimed at 4 to 5 year olds.
Key Stage 1
Encouraging basic science and literacy skills for 5 to 7 year olds.
Key Stage 2
Bringing the biology and geography curricula to life for 8 to 11 year olds.

Training in basic ecology skills for 11 to 14 year olds.
Key Stage 4
Field studies in preparation for GCSEs.
'A' Levels and IB
Relevant sections of the Biology 'A' Level and IB syllabuses are taught on our nature reserves.
