Treasure Hunt (half day)

Treasure Hunt at Nower WoodFollow the clues to find the treasure and have adventures along the way. A mixture of environmental and fun activities, ideal for after exams.
From Nov to March, we also run the following half day sessions at Nower Wood:-
Winter Tree Detective Sc2 3abc 4abc 5ef. Identifying trees from their bark patterns and other clues
Who is hidden in our wood? Sc2 2e 4abc 5abcde. How the seasons affect woodland animals.

National Curriculum Criteria : Early KS2 Science & literacy skills
Our sessions are always planned and presented with the Health & Safety of the
students in mind. The activities instil an awareness of the importance of observation when studying
animals and plants in their natural habitats. Students are encouraged to treat the organisms with
care and sensitivity. We also emphasise the need to look after our environment. Most importantly
we hope you enjoy your day out, and return to school with a better understanding of how we
fit into the natural world.

Encouraging basic science and literacy skills for 5 to 7 year olds.
Key Stage 2
Bringing the biology and geography curricula to life for 8 to 11 year olds.

Training in basic ecology skills for 11 to 14 year olds.
Key Stage 4
Field studies in preparation for GCSEs.
'A' Levels and IB
Relevant sections of the Biology 'A' Level and IB syllabuses are taught on our nature reserves.
