Buff tip moth caterpillarBased around this ever popular book, children learn about the changes within the life cycle of a butterfly. They take part in games and creative activities linked with the text in the natural settings of the reserve.
National Curriculum Criteria : Sc2 1b 2abf 5c, science and literacy skills included
Our sessions are always planned and presented with the Health & Safety of the
students in mind. The activities instil an awareness of the importance of observation when studying
animals and plants in their natural habitats. Students are encouraged to treat the organisms with
care and sensitivity. We also emphasise the need to look after our environment. Most importantly
we hope you enjoy your day out, and return to school with a better understanding of how we
fit into the natural world.

Inspiring and fun activities aimed at 4 to 5 year olds.
Key Stage 1
Encouraging basic science and literacy skills for 5 to 7 year olds.
Key Stage 2
Bringing the biology and geography curricula to life for 8 to 11 year olds.

Training in basic ecology skills for 11 to 14 year olds.

Field studies in preparation for GCSEs.
