Our Mammal Officer has worked closely with Arcadia on a number of development projects throughout Surrey. We provide Arcadia with badger surveys, expert advice on mitigation and badger protection and have obtained licenses where appropriate.
Birtley Brook Estate
Birtley Brook Estate
SWT Consultancy was commissioned in 2008 to conduct a suite of ecological surveys at Birtley Brook Estate over a two year period. Surveys included breeding birds, amphibians, reptiles, bats, terrestrial and aquatic invertebrates and small mammals. The findings establish an ecological baseline and inform management of the estate for the benefit of biodiversity.

We have been commissioned by ERHA to provide extended Phase 1 habitat surveys, protected species assessments, reptile surveys and BREEAM Code for Sustainable Home Assessments for a number of development projects.
Reigate and Banstead Borough Council

In 2008 SWT Consultancy were commissioned to undertake surveys of Sites of Nature Conservation Importance (SNCIs), which involved conducting botanical surveys of around 40 sites and comparing the findings against the selection criteria. We are continuing to work with Reigate and Banstead and are establishing a rolling programme of surveying and monitoring of current and potential SNCIs to help them meet their biodiversity duty.

Chertsey Meads:
We worked with Runnymede BC over a number of years to conduct botanical monitoring and condition assessment of this important hay meadow. We have also produced an in-depth management plan for the site which aims to restore to its former SSSI status.
SANGs:
Runnymede BC commissioned SWT Consultancy to undertake Phase 1 surveys, protected species and access assessments of the borough's SANGs sites to inform their management in line with SANGs requirements.
