Bay Pond Blitz

East side volunteers - by Martin D'Arcy

Grateful thanks to all the hardworking volunteers from the Bay Pond Friday group, Nower Wood Wednesday group and the East Team Wednesday group!

The different teams have assisted in various tasks at Bay Pond between January and April in preparation for the temporary re-location of the staff from Nower Wood to Bay Pond while the education centre re-build is underway.

Tasks have included creating a car parking, sub frame for a new classroom, improvements to mini-beast stations, alterations to benches on the dipping platforms. The team have also used a felled beech tree to build tiny seats for children, mini-beast discs and a stag beetle habitat.

I know it has not been conservation work but everyone has thrown themselves in willingly and helped this important project.

Could not have done it without you!
