Adopt an Otter
Otter by Nicholas Armitt
European otters are considered to be "Near Threatened" which means that although their range is increasing, particularly in Britain, the population is still fragile.
Numbers could easily collapse as they did in the past mainly through hunting, the use of industrial and agricultural pesticides and habitat destruction.
By adopting an otter with Surrey Wildlife Trust you will be contributing to our vital conservation work and helping to protect this charismatic animal. Every adoption will help to provide funds for our Otters and Rivers Project Officer to carry out improvements to riverbanks, build artificial otter homes for otters to rest and breed in and to work with landowners to improve the river corridors so that otters can move around the county more easily.
For just £20.00 you will receive a personalised adoption certificate, otter fact sheet, FSC Guide to British Land Mammals, an otter soft toy, photograph, sticker and badge. Plus two newsletters a year to let you know how your support is helping Surrey’s otters.
